Microfiber has Superior cleaning power!!

Composed of synthetic fibers split many times finer than human hair, microfiber has a cleaning power unsurpassed by any other reusable or disposable towel. Its densely packed, tiny fibers can work their way into surface cracks and crevices to pick up microbes and microscopic particles cotton and other synthetic fibers leave behind, making it ideal for cleaning and disinfecting high-traffic, high-risk areas in any facility. In fact, microfiber has proven to be more than 3 times more effective at reducing bacteria than cotton fiber, removing 99% of bacteria compared to cotton’s 30%.

Microfiber cloths and tools remove the risk of cross-contamination when used as part of a color-coded cleaning program. Pairing each color with a different area within a facility prevents the transfer of bacteria between rooms, significantly reducing the spread of infection.

A sample system for color-coding is outlined here:

Red: Best for restrooms and high-risk areas. Use red microfiber cloths to clean sanitary product receptacles, toilets, and urinals. Use red microfiber mops on restroom floors.

Yellow: Yellow microfiber cloths are appropriate for other restroom surfaces, including sinks, towel dispensers, hand dryers, soap dispensers, door handles, and walls.

Green: Use green microfiber for general food and bar cleanup. Use green cloths and mops in non-preparatory food areas, such as lunchrooms. Note: Food prep areas have their own standards through the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) system.iii

Blue: Reserve blue microfiber cloths and mops for general low-risk areas, including common areas, offices, and classrooms.
